As a key component of communication network signaling systems are applied in PSTN, IN, 2G mobile communication network, 3G and IMS networks etc.
Eastcom CS21-IPS200S Integrated Signaling Platform based on self developed large-scale mobile switch system, enables function of 2G/3G/NGN signaling processing and provides service developers with TCP/IP protocol based control interfaces. CS21-IPS apply to the following applications:
1) As call control protocol process module applied in switch;
2) As signaling fore-end processor of systems with computer+database structure, such as: HLR,SCP and SMC;
3) As STP enables function of signaling transfer;
4) As gateway of protocol converters applied in different signaling systems, such as: SG of SS7-SIGTRAN, SS7-SIP, SS7-BICC etc.
To value-added services developer, signaling platform mainly act as signaling fore-end processor of service systems with computer+database structure.
At present there are two signaling processor solutions:
1) Switch serve as signaling fore-end processor normally adopted by switch manufacturer, but most of these factory won't provide the switch platform to the third part of service developers, considering marketing competition.
2) Computer manufacturers such as: HP, SUN etc., integrate signaling board and signaling protocol software with PCI interfaces in cluster server to serve as signaling fore-end processor, and provide the whole base frame to service software developers or system integrators;
Both of the above solutions have there respective strengths, but on the current marketing representation switch have better maintainability, reliability and price/performance ratio, so solution of using switch act as signaling fore-end processor is broadly accepted by carries and owns more marketing shares. Thereby, service software developers hope to improve their competition through obtaining a signaling fore-end platform based on solution of switch. But it is difficult for service developers to cooperate with switch manufactories to develop services base on switch by reasons of service competition and open characters of systems.
